Huco Flex P Coupling for Walk-Behind Stackers

The largest global manufacturer of multi-directional forklifts needed a reliable coupling solution for use on its line of walk-behind (walkie) forklift stackers and reach stackers.

The walkie stackers feature a tiller with a push button control that rotates the stacker’s rear wheel allowing the operator to move to the side of the unit while placing or picking in narrow aisles. A compact shaft-to-shaft coupling was needed that could accommodate the angular misalignment and vibration on the unit’s steering column.

The OEM selected Flex P couplings from Huco Dynatork based on more than 25 years of successful collaboration. Huco’s popular double-loop Flex P coupling uses a molded Hytrel® flexing element that is swaged permanently to steel or stainless steel hubs to provide a compact design with reduced vibration. It forms an effective two-stage coupling with exceptional flexibility in all three modes (radial, angular and axial).

These couplings work without any friction, wear or noise and are ideal for transmitting rotation in small drive applications. Units feature a maximum rotational speed of 3000 rpm.
